Joy as Woman

I hold her hand and vanish

I kiss her mouth and my tongue goes still

This is where I find rest today

When too afraid

And too tired

Have broken their hold on my feet

I breathe

And long

And loud

Like three years of lost come home to me

And she soft

And glows like summer

And smells like sun and all the time in the world

She smiles like it’s hers, and not borrowed

Laughs like her belly be full of bliss

Or light

Or both

And I hold her hand on this ledge

And I kiss her mouth with this tongue

And we step off into nowhere

Just for a minute

Just to catch my breath
