Disrupt or Be Disrupted
Kendrick got it wrong. STAND UP & TAKE WHAT’S YOURS.
We live in a time when you need to either disrupt or be disrupted- disrupted by manipulative institutions, disrupted by disingenuous individuals, disrupted by your own self. Doubt and insecurity run rampant on social media, in educational systems and, most tragically, in our thoughts and understanding of who we are as individuals. We forget our power. We shy away from our possibilities.
But it’s time to be unprecedented. Instead of hosting a one-way relationship being inspired by others, be inspirational. Instead of solely sponsoring the creativity of others, let your own ideas change a life. Embrace fear and use it as a motivator for your success instead of the killer of your ambition. It’s time to stop using the word “SORRY” for the little things because when the opportunities to be great arrive at your feet you won’t know what to do with yourself. Stop being sorry for who you are now because who you want to be is unapologetically phenomenal. Build your empire with the utmost confidence and let go of those who would so easily let go of you.
Build healthy relationships with those above you. My motto: If they don’t inspire you, why are they there? Disrupt unhealthy and stagnant relationships that serve as unnecessary weight during your climb. As it’s said, you are the company you keep. So keep the company that keeps you motivated.
Reminder: "You have the same amount of hours in a day as Beyonce." So start disrupting.
