With temps dropping and cuffing season in full effect, the soundtrack to our #neverlinkszn is getting better and better. Between 6lack dropping a few weeks ago and Ella Mai giving us some new sultry vibes to lay up to, there is no shortage of good R&B music out right now.
While the recent drops have definitely been on repeat, this past Friday, Amerie dropped an EP, After 4AM, and I found my no-skips project of the season. The project and it’s companion, 4AM Mulholland, is subdued yet powerful, giving the reflective and calm vibes that make this time of year special.
Coming off of a nine-year hiatus, Amerie shares a project that’s intimate and vulnerable, with a selection of beats that would impress even the toughest critics. Some of After 4AM/4AM Mulholland’s standouts: “Midnight Rain” and “Curious”. Be sure to check out sis’s work and enjoy another reason to stay inside cuddled with good music.
Amerie’s After 4AM and 4AM Mulholland can be found on all of your favorite streaming platforms (I’m partial to Apple but, you know, trying to be inclusive here). Also, be sure to keep up with all of her latest projects, including some dope books and YouTube videos documenting the recent birth of her son, River!
