2017 was an adventure for me when it came to skincare. There were many up’s and down’s when it came to finding the right products for me, but I have begun to narrow down my favorite and most effective products to suit my skin and lifestyle.
Skin Type: Combination/Oily/Acne Prone
4 Products I’ll Continuing Using in 2018:
My sister put me on to this soap and it has changed my skin-care routine. In combination with the other products in this list it makes my skin feel smooth and look visibly brighter. I also use Clearly Corrective™ Purifying Foaming Cleanser, but it is no match to Dudu Osun’s effectiveness for my skin.
+Esteé Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II
I didn’t believe in serums before I tried an Esteé Lauder Advanced Night Repair sample after I bought the Esteé Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup (foundation). This serum made me a believer. This is officially my holy grail serum. It leaves a smooth, soft finish right after applying and when I wake up in the morning my skin feels amazing! It is definitely on the high-end spectrum ($65 for 1 oz.), but it is most certainly worth it. From my experience, this serum also serves as a great primer, especially under the Esteé Lauder Double Wear foundation.
I thought micellar waters were a gimmick before I decided to take a chance and try the Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Cleanser & Waterproof Makeup Remover while at Walmart. And let me say, this is by far the best toner I have used thus far. It does not dry out my skin like many other toners I have used in the past and it leaves a nice level of moisture. I also use it to take off any leftover eye makeup after washing my face.
I want to explore different clay masks in 2018, but the Freeman Feeling Beautiful Facial Clay Mask Avocado & Oatmeal has been my favorite by far. I usually slap this on right before a shower or at the beginning of my Saturday morning cleaning routine. It has been great for shrinking pores and giving my skin a smooth texture. Beware of leaving it on too long (as with all clay masks) because it can over dry the skin.
