    What’s the Word, Beauty?

Beauty can be tough to keep up with. Every day there’s something new and if you’re not glued to your phone 24/7, you might just miss out. To make life easier for all the Beauty lovers and/or people who just like to be in the loop, I’m providing the need-to-know details on the latest happenings in Beauty. I got ya’ll!

    KKW Beauty

On March 23rd, KKW Beauty dropped the long anticipated concealer kits ($80). However, the brand fell short (in my opinion) offering only 16 shades. What the heck are we supposed to do with that, sis?  Her response to the backlash was that the top 10 brands only offer about 6 shades, so 16 is pretty inclusive. Tuh! (Read more of the interview with Refinery).  Fenty Beauty set the bar pretty high with its incredibly inclusive 40-shade range. Do better Kim!

    Fenty Beauty

Summer is on its way and Rih wants to spread the glow. Fenty released its latest product, Body Lava. It comes in two shades, “Who Needs Clothes” and “Brown Sugar” along with a kabuki brush applicator. The release also includes the Fairy Bomb, which is a glitter packed pom pom. Use this after applying the Body Lava and your glow will know no bounds. The reason we’re not completely in love? That price tag! $59 for Body Lava and $42 for the Fairy Bomb is a bit steep. We did find some more affordable dupes though 🙂

    Jennifer Lopez x Inglot Cosmetics

JLo is starting her own beauty line with Inglot Cosmetics. All we know so far is that it will offer a full range of products including mascara, lipsticks, blush, shadows etc. Beauty junkies will be able to pre-order on April 17th and it will officially release on April 26th. Stay tuned!

    Anastasia Beverly Hills

ABH came hard with its spring collection this year. New products include bronzers ($28), the Soft Glam eyeshadow palette ($42), the Amrezy highlighter ($28) and 6 new shades of liquid lipstick (Tulip, Currant, Clover, Poet, Requiem, Dazed at $20). Do we love it? The bronzers could use more shades for sure.  Everything else is pretty dern cute!

    Aaliyah x MAC Cosmetics

By popular demand, MAC Cosmetics is going to release a collection inspired by the late Aaliyah. The collection drops June 20th online and June 21st in stores. MAC is also calling fans to participate in the launch by posting a photo or video that shows how Aaliyah inspired them.  Don’t forgot to use hashtags #AtoZofAaliyah and #AaliyahforMAC! Two photos of products included in the collection have been shared already via MAC’s instagram.

    Colourpop Cosmetics

Colourpop took a page out of Fenty Beauty’s book and doubled their concealer shade range. They now offer 30 shades and still at a super affordable price of $6. Love that! Also love the amount of coverage. You can also use this as a foundation (I know because I’ve tried). Peep these shades.

More Beauty happenings to come in part 2!
